Book 8 investigates what might happen when a left-wing socialist is elected to the presidency of the United States.   An excerpt follows.

Prologue

For two hundred years the people of the United States have chosen political centrists as presidents. Some presidents, like Franklin Delano Roosevelt, have been to the left, and others, like Ronald Reagan, have been to the right, but at no time has there been a president who has proposed that the country abandon capitalism and embrace socialism.  Every president—until now—has been a centrist. 

Our current President, Barack Obama, is not a centrist.  In fact, he has been called the most radical president in the history of the United States.  Doubtless, this assessment is based on Mr. Obama’s socialist agenda, his race-centered politics and his deceitfulness in hiding both his socialism and its racial aspect.

Obama is the author of Dreams From My Father, an autobiographical memoir in which the President addresses his need to know and understand his father, a native of Kenya. Obama Sr. abandoned his son and Obama Jr’s mother when Obama Jr. was a toddler, leaving them in Hawaii while Obama Sr. traveled to mainland United States to study at Harvard. 

After Harvard, Obama Sr. went back to Kenya, where, among other things, he wrote commentary on the state of affairs in Kenya.  See Barack H. Obama, “Problems Facing Our Socialism,” East Africa Journal (July 1965).  As the title of the article suggests, Obama Sr. was a socialist.  This is not meant as a derogatory description of Sr’s politics, for in the context of Kenya at the time of the article, socialism must have seemed a plausible approach to providing the greatest good to the greatest number of people.

Whether the socialist form of government appropriate to Kenya can be beneficially imported to the United States, however, is another question.  Obama Jr.’s answer to this inquiry, I suggest, is in the affirmative, for his dreams are, as he says, from his father. 

To find an example of Obama Jr.’s socialist dreams, one need look no further than his headlong rush into health care reform, a massive undertaking, 2700 pages long, that affects almost twenty percent of the economy of the United States. Obama was so obsessively insistent on passing this bill that he actually proposed lawmakers vote on the bill without reading it.  This from a constitutional lawyer!

What do we know about this bill?  Here are a few things.  It strips half a trillion dollars from Medicare to pay for extended coverage to an additional 35 million people not heretofore covered.  It adds these 35 million people to an existing health care structure (doctors, nurses, hospitals, medical schools), which will, of necessity, involve rationing of services.  If you add a dozen people to the dinner party and keep the same pie, everyone will get a smaller piece.  In all probability a national sales tax or a national value-added tax will be imposed to help pay for the inevitable deficits in financing the new plan.  In fact, Obama is now talking about the value added tax, something that was never mentioned during the debate on the bill.  This health care bill is so radical that one of its Democratic architects, Senator Max Baucus of Montana, refers to it as an “income shift.” 

Why was this health care bill so important to Obama?  It is a major building block in his socialist agenda.  It strips benefits from those who have more and redistributes them, watered down and rationed, to those who have less.   That is why Senator Baucus refers to the bill as an “income shift.”

The reason Obama could not have pursued a more piecemeal, graduated form of health care reform, as the Republicans favored, was that gradual reform would not accomplish the unstated underlying socialist goal of transferring massive wealth.  If one merely lowers costs or makes sure that pre-existing conditions are covered, one has not significantly shifted wealth.

Following hard on the passage of this health care bill is a new immigration bill that will legalize fifteen to twenty million illegal immigrants.  When legalized, they will also receive free health care under the bill just passed, and they will, presumably, vote in perpetuity for their Democratic benefactors.   The immigration bill is the cement stabilizing the Health Care Bill, for it gives the Democrats the votes necessary to avoid a repeal.

But health care and the immigration bill are not Obama’s only socialist undertakings.  An equally profound socialist proposal is his plan to put the country 20 trillion dollars in debt in order to “stimulate” the economy.  Most economists predict that such a debt will result in hyper-inflation and eventual economic collapse.  The Chinese may demand higher interest on the U.S. bonds they now hold, for they fear that rating agencies may lower the rating of U.S. bonds from their current AAA status.

Besides concealing his socialist agenda, Obama also concealed and continues to conceal his racial agenda.  For his biographer, David Remnick “[r]ace is at the core of Obama’s story….” The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama, (New York, 2010) 237.  When Remnick says “race is at the core of Obama’s story” we need to listen, for he is a sympathetic biographer who knows Obama better than most.

Obama matured in the racial politics of Chicago, home of the most notoriously corrupt political machine in the country, where “[s]tories of corruption, enormous and banal, regularly appear in the Tribune and the Sun-Times,” Id. at 353.  Corrupt or not, Chicago is where Obama found his political legs, firmed up his racial identity, chose a wife, joined a church, and immersed himself in Chicago’s history of black political involvement. 

Obama treats his ideas on race, however, much as he treats his ideas on socialism.  He hides them.  He’s good at hiding them because, as a person who is half white and half black, he is simultaneously dedicated to the idea of racial equality and indifferent.  Obama describes himself as black, and as such, he works to achieve benefits for his people (as his father would have done), but at the same time, he is also white, and he knows that to be successful with his racial agenda in the white world, he must appear to be rational, detached, conciliatory. 

 

Therefore, when Obama discusses race, he is never confrontational in the manner of Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton.  He does not accuse whites of racism.  In fact, he soothes whites and assures them that they are not racists. Unlike black leaders of an earlier generation, his is the voice of reconciliation.

Underneath the reconciliation, however, is Obama’s hard core, socialist-racial bedrock, his determination to improve the lot of blacks even if the effects on the country are catastrophic.

Ironically, it is Al Sharpton, recently brought into the Obama fold as an advisor, who spilled the beans about this secret race agenda. When Tea Party activists protested the passage of the Health Care Bill, Sharpton immediately branded them as racists, for he knew what most of white America has yet to learn, that from Sharpton’s and Obama’s point of view, the effect of repeal of the new Health Care Bill would be to deny blacks, the intended beneficiaries, the benefits of the Health Care Bill.  He didn’t say that protesting the passage of the Health Care Bill would be “poor-ist”(biased against the poor), but only that it was racist (biased against blacks).  The fact that repeal would also terminate benefits for non-blacks is a matter of no consequence to Sharpton, for non-blacks were only incidental or “collateral” beneficiaries in the first place.

Of course, Obama could not have revealed his race-based agenda or his socialism openly during the campaign, for then he would not have been elected.  The white majority of the United States is not willing to wreck the health care system or to drive the country into bankruptcy to benefit poor blacks or anyone else. By concealing his racist-socialist agendas behind a more general “wanting to spread the wealth” rhetoric, Obama’s ideology was masked and did not emerge as a deal-breaker at the polls. 

But if Obama was reluctant to mention his race-based socialism, some of his close associates are not so bashful about mentioning race.  Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the black pastor of Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ, a church which Obama attended for twenty-five years, is famous for his black-centered view of the world and his outspoken public denouncement of the United States with “God Damn America.” Obama is also close to a number of people like Al Sharpton who are professional race card players.  They blame whites for any black misfortune and they openly campaign for favored black treatment in every area of life.

Obama’s questionable associates are not only race-card players and religious demagogues, but also include political extremists.  If one is a socialist in capitalist America, one must be interested in ways to overcome capitalism, and so it is natural that Obama has associates who have demonstrated some interest in overthrowing the government.   One of Obama’s politically extreme associates, Bill Ayres, was a key figure in the Weather Underground movement of the 60’s and 70’s, and has admitted to bombing the New York City Police Department headquarters in 1970, the United States Capitol building in 1971, and the Pentagon in 1972.  Whereas Ayers used explosives in an attempt to reform capitalist America, Obama uses rhetoric, but the commonality of interest is in overthrowing the established capitalist order.

Failure to disclose is also what clouds the discussion about Obama’s birthplace.  It is difficult to imagine any president refusing to release any and all documentation that would confirm his birth in a U.S. jurisdiction.  But Barack Obama has refused to do just that.  In fact, he has spent significant sums of money thwarting the efforts of his challengers to uncover such documentation, if it exists.  Similarly, his college records (which may reveal that he received a subsidy as a foreign student) have been sealed and are unavailable for public scrutiny.  It goes without saying that no other president has had his birthplace challenged and then refused to answer the challenge.  Arizona’s House of Representatives has just passed a bill that would require candidates for the Presidency to provide documents proving eligibility for office before the candidate can run in Arizona.  If passed by the whole legislature, Obama would have to comply if he wants to run in Arizona in 2012.  Arizona’s new measure points out that there may not have been as thorough a verification process for Obama as many assume. 

If a race-centered socialism is Obama’s political identity, the mechanism by which he won the presidential election is pure deceit.  At no time during the campaign did Obama admit to his socialist, racist proposals and the inevitability of new taxes to pay for them.  Political commentators questioned, “Who is this guy?”  Obama spoke only in general terms and avoided particular commitments.  He could have acknowledged his ultimate goals, but he didn’t, for he knew that if he made his true political identity known, that identity would garner little support.

This deceitfulness is the flaw in the Obama presidency.  There is no shame in a political agenda that advocates cost-prohibitive, even crazy government benefits for blacks or poor people.  That is merely politics, and candidates for public office are free to espouse whatever they please.  There is shame, however, in failing to disclose this political agenda.  There is shame in deception.  Had Obama been straightforward about his political agenda, there can be little doubt he would have lost the election, for his programs would achieve social change at a cost that very few people would be willing to pay.  He is now the President, but he is in office by deceit.

Obama’s practice of lying by omission is merely another version of a tactic carried out by the far left for generations: Jonah Goldberg calls it “lying for justice.”  The idea is that lies in the service of the political goal are perfectly acceptable.  Obama is in this tradition of deceit.  A well-known example of lying for justice is the Tawanda Brawley case.  There a black teenager’s claim that she had been kidnapped and raped by three white men, whom she could not describe, was determined to be false.  Black activists commenting on the discredited Brawley (now Maryam Muhammad), said that whether Brawley’s story was a lie was not the point.  The point was that it might have happened even if it did not.  The lie was a matter of no importance.

In sum, Obama’s socialist leanings, his insistence on quickly passing momentous bills which may not even have been read; his willingness to abolish American institutions like gun ownership and self defense even in one’s own home; his associations with radical political and religious figures; his background in the cesspool of Chicago politics; his willingness to slash half a trillion dollars from Medicare, ration health care, and exempt himself from these catastrophic changes; his deceptive rhetoric masking a race-centered socialism as his primary goal as President; his refusal to provide conclusive evidence that he is a natural U.S. citizen, and his deceitfulness suggest that this president is not really who he wants us to believe he is.

Given Obama’s lies about his political agenda, it is natural, even for people who support this president, to wonder what he will do next and what, in fact, are the limits of what he might do.  That wondering is what this book is about.  It is not about Obama the actual person, but the possibility, which Obama’s conduct has raised, that any President of the United States might conceal his beliefs, get elected as a result, and lead the country into   ruin.  After Obama, there is the prospect of a new kind of president, one who will destroy us from within.

The new Hispanic President, Ralph Theodore, had just finished putting the final touches on his letter to posterity, a letter he would place in a time capsule.  The letter explained to future generations that the changes which occurred during the Theodore administration were deliberate, not accidental.  It was intended to demonstrate that he, Ralph Theodore, was one of the great historical figures of all time.

If you are reading this, it will be the year 2109 or later and the hundred year time capsule which contained this letter will have been opened.  Further, if the year is 2109, you will be living in a United States that is a Socialist-Muslim nation.   The purpose of this letter is to explain my part in bringing that about.

My critics have made a great deal of the fact that I am Mexican and that my religious background is Islamic.  It is true that these considerations have affected my thinking and my domestic policies, but I think you will agree, these policies have been good for the country.    Basically, my concerns have been to redistribute American wealth, to return Hispanic control to land which the United States stole from Mexico long ago and to put an end to American arrogance and power.  Erasing national boundaries in North America, opening the borders to unlimited numbers of Hispanics and Muslims and eliminating large fortunes are my paths to accomplishing these goals.

In short, my work has been to turn the have-nots into the haves, to impoverish the very wealthy, and to expand the geographical borders of the United States.  I am and have always been a socialist and I understand my role as President to transform the United States and all of North America into a socialist nation.   

Had this been stated openly during the campaign, I would have lost the election because I would have been unable to overcome the opposition of the haves.  It was, therefore, crucial for me to appear to be a traditional candidate, to the extent that was possible and to give the impression of being the voice of moderation. 

Once in office, however, I have been free to formulate a plan that would shift wealth from the rich to the poor and to bring in record numbers of my countrymen.

The first phase of my plan was to destroy the social and economic structures that have produced Anglo society in the United States.  If the old structures remained in place, there could be no redistribution of wealth.

The second phase was to substitute my economic and social structure for the one I destroyed.  This new structure would redirect the nation’s wealth into different hands.

The first part of my plan—to destroy the existing economic structure—was facilitated by the economic and financial turmoil that occurred when I took office.  Massive job losses, the collapse of the stock market, insolvency of banks and large corporations gave me a unique opportunity to initiate the expenditure of 20 trillion dollars—money that doesn’t exist—in a purported effort to jump-start the economy. 

Had there been no economic turndown, I would not have been able to get Congress to approve this massive debt.  As it is, the debt is in place, with no way to repay it. The economy is collapsing, the currency will be devalued by hyper-inflation and the investments which have made the wealthy powerful will no longer be worth anything.  At that point, the wealthy will no longer be in control.

The second part of my plan—substituting my own economic structure—is underway now.  Even before we default, I have entered into a partnership with China to invest in and rebuild our economy.  The Chinese already hold 4 trillion dollars of our bonds and once the economy is in complete collapse, the Chinese will demand repayment.  They will refuse to accept our devalued currency.  I will, in effect, nationalize industrial facilities all over the country, some by eminent domain or through other forms of forced sale and offer these properties to the Chinese in lieu of dollars. 

The Chinese will take controlling ownership in our industrial plants and become our partners in producing a renewed economy.  They are anxious to use our infrastructure to build new factories and our labor force to staff them.  By the time this nation re-emerges as a key part of the world economy, it will be controlled and owned by a Chinese consortium in league with a new and quite different group of United States citizens.

This new group of Americans who will share ownership with the Chinese will be largely Hispanic and Muslim.  They will have flooded into the country through open borders, not only to seal the demise of the old Christian monied class, but also to serve as a buffer against overreaching by the Chinese.  Both groups will support me against the Chinese because I brought them here.

The bottom line:  Destruction of the old system will not be a bad thing.  The excessive life styles of the rich will no longer be viable.  The gluttony of consumption and privilege will no longer be possible.  There will be some hope for social justice.

All nations rise and fall.  It was time for the United States, as we have known it, to come to an end.  For decades, America has been a country without moral fiber.  In fact, the establishment that elected me was so corrupt that it allowed me to single-handedly bring it to its knees by handing me the keys to the treasury and allowing me to spend it into oblivion.   Just as in South Africa before it, the power elite of the United States was hell-bent on committing suicide. 

I have no personal investment in the past of this country.  Even if I were invested in the past of the United States, what past would it be?  Slavery?  Runaway capitalism?  Decadence for a few, those willing to profit from cheap immigrant labor and poverty; sickness and death for the immigrants themselves?  The history of the United States can be summed up as a progression of advantage takers stepping on other people’s backs to make as much money as possible. 

There is no reason to save this system or the people who make it work.  Whatever is to follow can only be better.

Ben Armstrong and the newly elected Theodore were sitting in the President’s Study next to the Oval Office.  Armstrong and Theodore had been friends for years, since they met at Princeton as undergraduates.  Armstrong was now a psychiatrist and Theodore was the President.  Armstrong was half black and half white; Theodore was half Mexican and half Filipino.  The two were good friends in college, perhaps because both had mixed-race parents and a mutual interest in Islam and socialism.   Armstrong knew that Theodore had grown up in Mexico and the Philippines and envied his exposure to various Muslim and socialist cultures.   The friends lost touch a few years after graduation, but then reconnected when Theodore ran for the presidency and needed someone he could trust.  Armstrong was both a friend and a confidante.

Armstrong was eating a sandwich as he skimmed over the time-capsule letter Theodore had just handed him.  Finally, he looked up and said, “I’m going to have to study this Ralph, but if I were you, I’m not sure I would be writing this stuff down.”

Theodore laughed.  “Remember, Ben, nobody’s gonna see this for a hundred years.”

“Yeah, but why write it?”

“I’m in the process of changing this country into something it has never been – a haven for poor people that spans the whole continent – and I want the world to know that wasn’t an accident.  I planned it and made it happen.”

“Jesus, Ralph.  You’re talking about erasing national borders and changing the whole economy.”

“Isn’t this the dream we had when we were in college—a socialist state where everybody got a chance and nobody was super-rich?”

“Yeah, but we never talked about destroying the entire country in order to equalize incomes,” Ben said.

“Maybe not, but that’s the only way it can be done.  The Anglo massa ain’t givin’ up no more than he already has, and that aint enough.”

“The white power structure will never let you get away with it.”

“What are they gonna do, Ben?  Shortly we will have a twenty trillion dollar deficit.  When we can’t pay the people who are holding our debt, the country will be bankrupt and the dollar will be worthless.  And now that the health care bill has passed, the deficit will be even larger.”

“You’re serious?” Armstrong said.

“Of course I’m serious.  In addition, I’ve opened the borders and I’ll just keep the immigrants coming until they  outnumber the natives.  Once they outnumber the natives, I’ll slip in some bill that gives them amnesty and citizenship and all of a sudden I’ll have a country full of poor Hispanics and Muslims who vote.  For me.  Instant socialism.”

“Is it true there are some twenty million illegals?” Armstrong said.

“Yes.  We’re bringin’ em in.”

“Don’t whites see that this is happening?”

“I’m not sure what they see, Ben.  But I do know that we’re on the way to a slew of new Democratic Party voters with government sponsored health care and loyalty to the guy who made it happen.”

“Yeah, Ralph, maybe so.  But at what cost?”

“The cost is that we destroy a country that never wanted to share the wealth, which seems to me just fine,” Theodore said.

“I can’t imagine actually destroying the country, Ralph.”

“What the hell is wrong with you, Ben? I thought you would be opening the champaign and dancing around the halls.  It’s not my country.  It’s not your country.  Your people were brought here and enslaved.  Mine had their land stolen and were made to play the role of peons.  Now it’s payback time.” 

“It’s already our country, Ralph.  We live here.”

“Yeah, but only at the boss’s sufferance.  All the stuff that made this country what it is, limited government, individual freedom, free enterprise, low taxes—none of those things are gonna help poor people, Ben.  We gotta get rid of these things, and the only way to do that is to scrap the whole system.  The existing system is what we been fighting all our lives.”

“You can’t just destroy an entire economy, Ralph.  That’s insane.”

“It doesn’t make any difference if we destroy the economy, Ben, because it’s Anglo.  They have used the economy to enslave our people.  I want to use it to help our people.  By wrecking this economy, I will be the first President who has done anything significant for Hispanics, Muslims and blacks and besides that, I will destroy the stuff the Anglos have built up to keep us down.  How can I lose?”

“You’re saying the whites will just sit by and watch this happen?”

“There’s not much else they can do.  They gave me the keys to the treasury and I created a twenty trillion dollar debt they can’t pay.  That’s gonna destroy their dollar.  On top of that, they’re letting me get away with flooding the country with illegals and giving them free health care.  The Anglos are done.”

Beijing, China.

The Chief of State of the People’s Republic of China, President Li Jinsong, and the Head of Government, Premier Xiao Shen, sat in the Premier’s office on cushions at a low table. They sipped tea from porcelain cups and listened intently to the young man across the table, Sun Park, a bright young lawyer on the Premier’s staff.

Li said, “I am old.  Start from the beginning.”

Sun said, “Of course, Mr. President.  Several years ago, we learned that an American billionaire, Mortimer Ambrose, was spending an unprecedented amount of money to finance the political career of the man who is now the U.S. President, Ralph Theodore.”

Xiao said, “What was unusual in that?”

Sun said, “It was the amount and the timing.  Ambrose spent 80 million dollars getting Theodore, an unknown,  elected to the Illinois senate and then 150 million dollars getting him elected to the United States senate.  Neither of these offices merits that kind of expenditure.  The only explanation for such financial support at the early stages of Theodore’s career is that Ambrose was grooming Theodore for the American Presidency.”

Li said, “Did Ambrose act as a mentor to Theodore?”

“It would appear so, Mr. President.  They spent a good deal of time together and Mr. Theodore’s political ideas are close to those of Mr. Ambrose.”

Li said, “Was the money paid openly?”

Sun said, “No.  Virtually all of it was paid in cash to campaigns and party officials over a period of years.  Some of it was funneled through straw contributors.”

“So you think Ambrose purchased the nomination of Theodore for the Presidency?” Li asked.

“Yes, Mr. President.  There is no other explanation for Theodore, a man of no distinction, to have been nominated for the Presidency,” Sun said.

“Go on,” Xiao said.

“I am summarizing, Premier Xiao,” Sun said.

“The report is very long.  We want the summary,” Li said.

“In watching this maneuvering, we concentrated on two matters,” Sun said.  “We concentrated on who Ambrose is and what he believes.  Then we concentrated on who Theodore is and what he believes.

“First, Ambrose.  Ambrose is worth 12 billion American dollars.  He has never held a public office but he is involved in politics, particularly American politics.  His central political belief is that all of the governments in the world should be consolidated into one and he appears to have influenced Theodore in this regard.  It is a peculiar feature of Western politics that very often wealthy politicians, the ultimate capitalists, advocate socialism.  We suspect, however these politicians naively believe they will be able to maintain positions of power and privilege once socialism is put in place.  In any case, Ambrose and Theodore favor removing the borders with Canada and Mexico and forming one large country in North America which would presumably be controlled by a central government involving Ambrose.”

Li said, “And Theodore believes this also?”

Sun said, “Yes.  Theodore is openly socialist, which is unique for an American President.  He favors socialist agendas, such as government controlled health care, removing borders with Canada and Mexico, curtailing compensation for executives, allowing unrestricted immigration and what he calls “spreading the wealth.”

Li said, “How does Theodore’s identity affect us?”

Sun said, “Theodore is driving the economy of the United States into bankruptcy.  We—China--holds at least 4 trillion dollars in U.S. debt.  Theodore’s plan, which seems well-known among his advisors, is to drive the dollar into hyper-inflation and then to pay us by seizing American corporations and giving them to us in payment for our bonds.”

Xiao said, “Why would he destroy his own country?”

Sun said, “He doesn’t see it as his country.  He was apparently born in Mexico, and in any event, by destroying the economy he will also destroy the monied class, which he hates.  Destroying the economy will also prepare the way for a new society in which everyone will be poor.”

Li said, “If you are correct, why would the Americans allow this to happen?”

Sun said, “We have studied the films of rallies conducted by the Theodore people during the election, and what one sees is people seeming to have mental breakdowns.  Tears stream down their faces, they perform tribal dances, and they shout slogans.  We believe that these behaviors are actually religious epiphanies.   Theodore’s election was made into a religious event and Theodore himself became a religious figure.

“In identifying their candidate as a religious figure, the Theodore people were merely doing what has been done many times before in the West by the political left.  Mussolini’s Fascists, Hitler’s Nazis, and America’s War Socialists in the 1930’s all treated the state and its leader as a godhead who would provide for the masses.”

“Are you saying the Fascists and the Nazis are the political predecessors of the American left?”

“Yes.  We have known that for many years, and it has been recently established by the American scholar Jonah Goldberg in his book Liberal Fascism.  If you compare the Nazi Party Platform with the goals of the American left, there is little difference.  The Nazis charged the state with providing jobs and a way of life for citizens.  They favored nationalization of industries.  They demanded sharing of profits with workers.  They sought to expand old age benefits and the creation of a strong middle class. They also favored national health care.  There is very little difference between these goals and the goals of the American left.  One can see it especially in Theodore’s heath care plan, his stimulus spending to create jobs, his hatred of the monied class, and his favoritism to unions.”

“Why is this not generally recognized?”

“After the Holocaust was discovered, left wing leaders like Stalin sought to distance themselves from Hitler by claiming that Nazism was a right wing movement. The fact is there is a direct line of descent from Nazism and Fascism to the American New Deal.  They stand for the same things.”

Xiao said, “So your theory is that the Americans will allow Theodore to destroy their country because they have faith in him as a socialist religious figure who will act only to save the country.”

“That is correct, Premier Xiao.”

Li said, “If the government of the United States pays us for our bonds by giving us its industry, and we then own much of the industry in the United States, what is to prevent us from simply taking over the government by financing our own politicians and candidates for office?”

Sun said, “Theodore’s plan to prevent us from taking over is to import Muslims from all over the world, who will be in place by the time we present our bonds for payment and who will, he believes, be politically stronger than we.”

Li said, “That is foolish.  If we control the economy, we control the country.”

Sun said, “He apparently thinks that by promising these new immigrant Muslims socialized benefits, they will provide him with a political power base that will be so strong, we will not be able to control or manipulate it.”

Xiao said, “Once we control industry, we could easily subdue the nation militarily, but that would create hostilities and conflict that could be avoided by simply gradually assuming control of everything.  Could we not speed up the process by exporting our own Muslims to America?”

Sun said, “Yes.  We have 100 million Muslims in the People’s Republic of China.  We could export several million of these people who would be trained by us and monitored closely once they are in the United States.”

Li said, “When we own their key industries and are running their plants, and after we have several million of our own people in place, what then?”

Sun said, “Our research team foresees two major events. The first is that the corporations we control that were formerly American will all make working agreements with our own government and industries which, in effect, will transfer total control of those industries located in America, to China.

“The second is that by a forceful presence and the liberal application of money, a Chinese national will be elected president.”

Xiao said, “Their constitution prohibits that.”

Sun said, “We will do what they have done for Theodore.  Manufacture a document.”

Li said, “Go on.”

Sun said, “Once we control the government we can proceed to destroy what is left of their system.  We will just finish what Theodore has now begun.”

Li said, “You are aware of the proverb, ‘Be careful what you wish for.’”  Are we sure we want this?”

Sun said, “The team had three considerations in mind when recommending this course of action.  The first is that our population of 1.5 billion needs more room and more natural materials.  With the acquisition of American industry, we can scale back the development of our own industry and reduce pollution, which is rapidly getting out of control. 

“Secondly, after Theodore wrecks the social structure of his country, it is likely that the country will become unstable politically and we will need to take control of their nuclear arsenal in order to make sure that dissident factions do not get to these weapons and deploy them.

“Third, with the acquisition of American industry, we will ensure a food supply for our people.  As you know, having enough food for our people is uncertain unless we expand into areas such as the United States, where fertile ground is plentiful.  When we control this land, we will be the dominant food producer and the dominant economic power in the world.”

Li said, “Your report says that the United States has more than 700 military bases all over the world.  If we were to take over America, as you suggest, we would be taking over those bases as well.  Has the team given that any thought?”

Sun said, “Yes Mr. President.  The team sees this as a positive thing.  We can use these bases, unlike the Americans, to actually occupy parts of the world where our interests require it, and the bases can also serve as departure points for exporting our population to less-settled areas.”

Xiao said, “You have done well, Sun Park.  How do you recommend we approach this Theodore?”

Sun said, “I recommend we allow Theodore to think we do not know what he is doing and get him to agree immediately to the immigration of a large number of our Muslims.  He is not a very intelligent person.  He is full of self-righteousness and meaningless talk.  He will believe we are handing him the weapon he will use against us and agree.  In the meantime, we will be preparing to assume control of his entire country.”

Li said, “Let us begin the process of the takeover.”
